“Abundance of Renewable Energy for Green City”, the nationwide largest ground-mounted PV power plant constructed by SEC was officially launched on March 31, 2021.
The opening ceremony was led by President Su of Executive Yuan with accompanying attendees, including Minister Wang from Ministry of Economic Affairs, Mayor of Tainan city, and Chairman Yang from TPC. Certificate of appreciation was also awarded by President Su to the company collectively with the construction team and suppliers for their commendable efforts. This project is established using “Made in Taiwan” solar panels, transformers, and cables, representing the outset of MIT’s PV green energy industrial chain.
Star Energy Corporation (SEC) was the leading EPC contractor for this project which spans 214 hectares across Tainan’s Qigu and Jiangjun districts. Construction began on April 13, 2019, and completed initial power generation (46 MW) on April 10, 2020. 150 MW grid connection was completed on September 14, 2020, with expected green energy generation of about 207 million kWh each year. These numbers are sufficient to offset the annual energy demand of over 55,000 households and potentially reduce 111,000 tons of carbon emissions.
