Project Introduction
Star Energy contracted Taiwan Marubeni Co., Ltd. Chenya Energy's "161kV substation, with transformer high-voltage equipment and land cable project".
This project involves constructing a new 161kV substation in the Lunwei area of Changhua City's Changbin Industrial Zone, tasked with receiving sea surface-type solar energy from Changbin #1 & #2, as well as subsequent expansion #5 (181MW+67MW). Solar panel-generated electricity is collected and transmitted to the substation via submarine and land cables, then boosted and further transmitted to Taipower Changbin E/S within the Changbin Industrial Park for grid system integration.
Star Energy Company's responsibilities for all onshore works include:
l Civil engineering includes: Constructing land cables and 345-meter-long underground cable trenches post-submarine cable shore connection, alongside a 1-story underground: 4-story above-ground substation (161kV).
l Mechanical and electrical engineering includes: Installing high-voltage land cables, GIS switchgear, step-down transformers, adjustable reactors, fixed reactors, SCADA system, protection relay system, and other high and low voltage equipment, along with associated equipment.
The project commenced surveys, drilling, planning, and detailed design work following the contract signing on August 1, 2019. It concluded with meter installation and connection to the TPC supply system in December 2020, obtaining the usage permit in March 2021. From on-site work commencement to permit acquisition, Star Energy has diligently executed construction in line with high-quality, high-safety, and short-duration standards, meeting the owner's target of timely power supply.
